German artist, Luis Dilger knows that design isnt all about aesthetics.
Its also about solving problems and making things easy to understand. His collection City Layouts is an example of his talent for breaking design down into neat and reduced forms that are both accurate and appealing to the eye. By importing satellite-based data into a 3D program, Luis visualizes the fine lines and contours of city buildings and streets. He then edits every detail individually until a minimalistic, yet realistic view of the city is achieved. Although each city layout is portrayed in a conventional way from above, Luis use of exact topographical and 3D structural dimensions lead him to create precise representations of capitals around the world. Nominated for the famous German Design Award 2016, Luis currently finds himself working on the City Layouts of the future from his own graphic design studio in Ravensburg. He can also be found working on a variety of projects, including print, web and 3D art, for diverse clients.
