Greetings, sports fans, it's Chris Bengel back at the controls.
Over the past 48 hours, the Browns have been tasked with how to respond to the injury to Nick Chubb. In relief of Chubb, the team turned to second-year running back Jerome Ford, who logged 106 yards rushing after he became the Browns primary back during Monday's loss at the hands of the Steelers. Ford figures to be the lead back in the "Dawg Pound" going forward.
We've still got a few more days before the action on the gridiron gets underway, so let's see what's going on in the sports world along with what's happening on Wednesday night. Consider this a sneak preview for the type of expert analysis and insight you will receive as a SportsLine subscriber.
The Browns have signed veteran back Kareem Hunt to a one-year deal that could be worth up to $4 million.
Angels slugger/pitcher Shohei Ohtani underwent surgery on his right elbow
on Tuesday. Ohtani is expected to be restricted as a hitter in 2024 and won't pitch until the 2025 season.
Tom Brady brushes off potentially coming out of retirement and joining the Jets.

TUA TAGOVAILOA MAKING HUGE STRIDES AMONG NFL QBs
The Dolphins have jumped out to a 2-0 start with close wins over the Chargers and Patriots to start off the season. Miami quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has been arguably the biggest reason for the team's success as evident in his 715 yards passing and four touchdowns. Cody Benjamin also believes in what Tua is doing, explaining why he's been one of the league's top signal callers in his NFL QB Power Rankings.
Here's Cody's take on the Dolphins signal caller:
"So, by the looks of it, the early 2022 explosion was not a fluke. Does he underthrow a ball here and there? Sure. But how about every other pass, when he's dropping dimes to effortlessly execute Mike McDaniel's speed attack? He's got "it."
The Hot Ticket
Angels at Rays, 6:40 p.m. | Watch live: MLB.tv
The Pick: Rays -1.5 (+100)
Key trend: The Rays have outscored their opponents by at least two runs in five of their last seven wins.
SportsLine expert Larry Hartstein is 7-1 in his last eight ATS picks involving the Angels.
"The Angels have lost six straight, scoring 13 runs in the process, and likely will have trouble scoring versus Aaron Civale (7-3, 3.06 ERA). Los Angeles has only won 12 of its last 44 games and is playing without both its superstars. The Angels are dead last in OPS (.609) over the last 15 days, while Tampa Bay is tied for eighth (.759). The Rays are on a 13-4 run at home and should have success against Reid Detmers, who is 1-6 with a 5.40 ERA on the road."
