JAZZ CHISHOLM JR. DETAILS "WORST THREE YEARS" WITH MARLINS
Star center fielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. detailed the start of his tenure with the Miami Marlins in a recent appearance on The Pivot podcast, which is a podcast that is hosted by former NFL players Ryan Clark, Channing Crowder, and Fred Taylor. Chisholm alluded to the Marlins clubhouse being a toxic environment, and called it "the worst three years" of his career. He didn't name any specific players that made that time miserable. Chisholm, 26, is about to embark on his fifth MLB season, and does have an All-Star Game appearance under his belt.
Here's more from CBS Sports MLB writer R.J. Anderson on what Chisholm had to deal with:
Anderson:"Chisholm lamented how poor the Marlins' clubhouse environment was throughout his first several seasons in the majors. He explained that one spring training, an unnamed veteran player "cut up my cleats, poured milk on my cleats, said 'Those are trash.' Destroyed things I worked hard to do."
The Hot Ticket
NCAA Tournament, First Four: Boise State vs. Colorado, 9:10 p.m. | TV: TruTV
The Pick: Boise State +3 (-110)
Key trend: Boise State is 6-2 ATS in its last eight games.
SportsLine expert Larry Hartstein is 10-6 in his last 16 ATS picks involving Colorado.
Hartstein: "Boise State has never won an NCAA Tournament game as they enter Wednesday's contest with an 0-9 all-time record. If that's not enough motivation, the Broncos are stinging from their early loss in the Mountain West Tournament, and they're upset at having to be in the play-in game after finishing No. 26 in the NET rankings. This is a team that beat St. Mary's and won at San Diego State and New Mexico this season They are 7-3 in road games, while Colorado has just a 4-7 mark while playing away from home. The Broncos, who start two seniors and two juniors, should take this game to the wire, if not win outright."
