Martin Luther King, Jr. Day – National Day of Service

The Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service is the only federal holiday designated as a National Day of Service to encourage people to volunteer and give back. Since 1994, individuals and organizations have chosen this day as a day to volunteer by donating to a local food shelf, performing random acts of kindness or putting together care packages for healthcare workers.
