POSTCARDS FROM SARDINIA

Were lucky to make an annual trip to Barcelona to visit family. This year we snuck in a four-day getaway to Sardinia, an island that has it allbeaches, mountains, wineries, history, folklore, glamour, craftthe list goes on. We sought out a sleepier, low-key part of the island in Cala Gonone, part of the Gulf of Orosei region famous for dramatic coastlines and wineries. Im still dreaming of the turquoise water and white pebble beaches, along with Sardinian food (hint: its not pasta), especially the tiramisu.

Beach hop by boat: We rented a little zodiac boat and cruised between eight different beaches. Pack a picnic, drop it on the beach, then anchor the boat + swim in. Its an adventure + unforgettably beautiful.

Eat or stay at Su Gologone: Nestled into the foothills and famous for traditional Sardinian food- highly recommend with a glass of Vermentino.

Go inland to find history: We discovered Nuoro, the "Sardinian Athens"
