Biden releases dramatized gun control ad

The campaign for President Joe Biden released an advertisement highlighting his gun control efforts and criticizing the firearm policies of former President Donald Trump.

The advertisement referenced the continual phenomenon of mass shootings and sought to draw a distinction between Biden and Trump on gun policy, asserting that the former is seeking to address the issue through aggressive new firearm regulations. The thirty-second advertisement was released one day after the conservative members of the Supreme Court overturned a federal ban on bump stocks.

When Trump was president: children gunned down in classrooms, innocent people killed in church and massacred at a concert, Biden and other voices narrated in the commercial. Still Trump did nothing: he sided with the NRA, but I sided with you.

Biden referenced how he expanded background checks and created a White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention, implying the moves helped to curtail violence.

Now murder rates are down, the commander-in-chief continued. You and your family deserve to be safe and Im going to fight like hell to see to it that you are.

The commercial failed to mention that similar shootings have occurred throughout the Biden administration, including one in which a self-described transgender woman claiming identity as a man killed three children and three adults at a Christian school in Nashville, Tennessee, and another in which an immigrant from Central America injured two attendees of a megachurch in Houston, Texas.

Biden has indeed prioritized gun control over the past three years, using executive orders to circumvent Congress and implement tighter regulations. The White House noted in a fact sheet that Biden signed an executive order calling for the nation to move as close to universal background checks as possible within existing law.

The advertisement was released with another commercial noting that Trump was convicted in a hush money case which conservatives say was meant to diminish his reelection odds. This election is between a convicted criminal who is only out for himself, the narration said, and a President who is fighting for your family.
