Its is a new month and spring is coming. January and February were just the warm up for what 2024 will bring. The first couple of months of the year can be challenging to get started on your goals.
You may feel like you failed because you havent arrived where you wanted. I want to remind you - and encourage you - that nothing happens over night. All the people you see around you succeeding didnt do it in one night. You didnt see all their failures and obstacles. You only see the end result. Everything in life takes work and dedication. All the planting and sewing leads to growth and change.
And, with spring coming, its time for new growth and change. The color green means growth, and all the shamrocks and clovers around us remind us of new beginnings and changes. So, its time to move through and past all the obstacles of the winter. We have grown and learned so much. But its TIME to RISE and SHINE into our growth and blooming season in March.

My Journey Week 8
We are used to setting up new resolutions in January. We get all excited about those goals we want to achieve. But life can be pretty unpredictable sometimes. And we end up shoving those goals into a drawer inside of us. I went through that. Eight weeks ago I decided I wanted to go back to 18% body fat. I did it once, and I knew I could do it again.
Fast forward to today, and Im still 22% body fat. I doubted myself for a minute. Am I a failure? If I concentrate only on those numbers, I might be. But life cannot be summarized in simple numbers on the scale. It is so much more complex and it has so many other challenges.
I see such a difference when I compare this journey with the previous one. The physical changes came easily two years ago. But the rest of life was being held by a thread. My self worth dependedon others and relationships. Many of the stresses I had in that time led to my back injury. This time, I may not see in the mirror the body I envisioned when I started this transformation. At the same time, I look back at all the turbulence I went through in this period and it is clear that I was able to manage everything else better. Running two businesses, 3 kids, and caring for my mom. And lots of hiccups with kiddos and life.
This process also helped me learn a lot about myself. About my needs, my strengths and even my limitations. Most of all. Ive learned that sometimes we can seem the same on the outside. But internally, a lot has changed. And this is not the end of my journey. Its only the beginning!!! 18 days till my bday and I am going for it!!!

Recipe of the week
Ingredients
6 large bell peppers
1 pound ground beef or ground turkey
2 tablespoons taco seasoning
cup canned black beans rinsed and drained
cup sweet yellow corn thawed
1 jalapeo sliced, optional
to 1 cup reduced-fat shredded Mexican cheese blend
Instructions
In a large heated skillet, stir the ground beef until its cooked through and crumbled.
Add the taco seasoning, along with 2/3 cup water and stir.
Add the black beans, corn and jalapeos, if using.
Mix until well combined and heated through.
Spoon the mixture over the bell pepper pieces.
Sprinkle the cheese on top and bake until the cheese melts, about 10 minutes.
Serve warm with your favorite toppings
