Hey there,

If you were putting together the ultimate blended whisky - where would you start?

Youd probably want a decent base of really well-aged grain right? Get some amazing perfumed notes in from the start and give you a good base to build on.

Then maybe a healthy slug of 100% sherry-finished Speyside malt I mean, it is Christmas after all.

Tell you what - youd probably want a really good layer of Corn Whisky in there to make the mid-palate really broad and satisfying. Oh - and youd probably want that to be 100% fresh oloroso finished as well, because Christmas.

But how to finish the blend off - all those whiskies are delicious, but theyre pretty sweet. What about using some 10yo Islay to act as a the salt to the caramel youve added to date? Yeah. Thatll do it.

How could I possibly improve on something like that, I hear you ask? Well - what about if we scrubbed a full 12 off the price - and gave it to you for under thirty quid. Sounds about right.
