JOEY SAYS: Green Lantern #59 gives us the first appearance of the hero we love to hate, Guy Gardner. Created by John Broome and Gil Kane, Gardner was initially introduced to be Hal Jordans backup. The character would get an overhaul in the 80s thanks to Steve Englehart and Joe Staton. For collectors, this book is on a bit of a rollercoaster, but expect smooth sailing when we see Nathan Fillion don the ring in James Gunns Superman: Legacy!
