Don't Follow Your Heart!

We could do anything in the name of "following our hearts" and in fact, many have made damaging life decisions based on this awful advice. Here are a few reasonsmuch more could be addedwhy we shouldn't follow our hearts:

1. Our hearts lie to us.According to Jeremiah 17:9, our hearts are deceitful above all things. They trick us.

2. Our hearts are wicked. Do you remember the next part of Jeremiah 17:9? The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked.

3. Our hearts are prone to idols. We stray too easily and put things or people in the place of God. (Col. 3:5, Ezek. 14:3, 1 Cor. 10:14)
