Rex Ito started out as a marine biologist, working in South America throughout the 80s during the early days of aquaculture. He helped develop shrimp farming in Ecuador and came to the states to try and sell his frozen farmed shrimp before shifting focus to tuna after a few meetings. Prime Time Seafood was born - one of the first to bring fatty bigeye tuna into the states in 1989. Prime Time was always a family affair, with Rexs kids working on the business for as long as they could remember, learning everything there was to know about fish. Its no surprise theyve inherited Rexs entrepreneurial drive, creating their own business idea for the modern world: @rivieraseafoodclub, a direct to consumer version of their dads import business that makes smaller portions of high quality fish accessible to retail customers outside of sushi restaurants. #japanesefood #sushi #tuna #la #sashimi
