Make your photos more fun...

Samsung users: In order for you to mimic this stuff, you can use a feature called Motion Photos in the camera app.

Live Photos, those little moments of life caught in the act, are more than just your run-of-the-mill photos. They're a mini-movie, a photo-plus, a 3D slice of time! When you snap a pic, your iPhone says, "Why just take a picture when we can capture a bit of the universe?" It records 1.5 seconds before and after you press that shutter, creating a magical moving memory.

So how to get in on this wizardry? Simply open your Camera app (you know the one), and make sure the Live Photos icon (it looks like a bullseye made by a tipsy spider) at the top is turned on. When it's yellow, you're good to go. Take your photo and voila, you have your very own piece of Harry Potter-esque wizardry.

But wait, there's more! You can also edit these live nuggets of joy. Find the Live Photo you took, tap on the "LIVE" dropdown in the top left, and surprise! Four fun effects will reveal themselves: Live, Loop, Bounce, and Long Exposure.

1. "Live" is just your regular, awesome, everyday Live Photo.
2. "Loop" takes your Live Photo and turns it into a perpetual motion machine. Grandmas surprise when she opened that birthday present can be enjoyed over and over again.
3. "Bounce" is where the magic gets real. It plays your Live Photo forwards, then backwards, creating a hilarious boomerang-style effect. Watching Uncle Bob spill his coffee, in reverse, has never been funnier.
4. Last but not least, "Long Exposure" smoothes your Live Photo into a creamy, dreamy long exposure shot. Ever wanted to photograph a waterfall and get that silky water effect? Nows your chance!
