50 MARATHONS IN 50 DAYS CHALLENGE
For NICU, Royal Women's Hospital

When Sylvie had the fight of her life after being born prematurely, her uncle, Tom Price, knew he had to do something.

Born to loving mother Zoe via emergency caesarean section, Sylvie weighed a fragile 628 grams, and required an oxygen mask to breathe. The amazing professionals of the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) at the Royal Womens Hospital in Melbourne gave Sylvie a chance at survival, and cultivated hope for her family. Sylvie spent her first 134 days of life in their care.

Inspired by Sylvie and Zoe, Tom wanted to give back to the NICU the only way he knew how running.50 Marathons In 50 Daysis his incredible challenge. From the 9th of December 2023 to the 27th of January 2024, Tom will be running 42.2km a day a total of 2,110km equivalent to running halfway across Australia.

Alongside raising awareness of the NICU, he hopes to raise$50,000 minimumto support the current and future families that have critically ill or premature babies in their life-saving care. These funds will be used to purchase kangaroo chairs recliners specifically designed to keep parent and baby feeling safe and supported during skin-to-skin contact.
