Hard-working Daphne left her two daughters in Jamaica to create a better life for them in America. Thirty years later, as Daphne faces a health crisis, the arrival of a feisty queer activist stirs up family ghosts and the burning desire for love before it's too late.

NOW Magazine
"I come from a complicated legacy of black mothers who left their children. My great grandmother left her thirteen children in rural Jamaica for a better life in a bigger city. It was supposed to be for a short while, but she never returned." says trey anthony in the Playwright's Notes. "...I hope this production will spark conversation with women about motherhood, mothering, loving and loving someone right, and an understanding that many women are mothering under less than ideal circumstances, so offer grace instead of judgement."
