Thailand musings
... Mango stick rice is life.
... Thai people love a good pun (nice to MEAT you, for the local butcher).
... Bring an umbrella, because most likely youll get wet.
Its been a revealing 10 days into my Thailand adventure. I haven't done a trip like this in quite some time and forgotten pieces of my personality seem to be returning.
Young Sarah was extremely adventurous (much to my dads dismay).
If I lived before the world was mapped, I imagine I would been one of the ones mapping it or at least a stowaway because apparently women werent allowed.
But life gets you comfy.
Sometimes those adventurous streaks get pushed back as you focus on other priorities - and I'm not meaning things you hate, I mean things you truly love.
When my flight landed, I was smacked in the face with intense heat, traffic patterns that made zero sense, and no sleep.
I felt overwhelmed and wondered if I was up to spending the next few months here.
Once I slept, the world looked a little brighter.
I started exploring my neighborhood, I began navigating traffic like a local, and I ate a whole lot of mango sticky rice!
My soul feels good.
It feels like the me that I was so familiar with at one point in my life is coming out of her cave and getting back in the game.
We often talk about getting out of your comfort zone and the importance of it. It becomes one of those phrases we put on our agenda covers, thinking that through the act of seeing every day we are living it.
But that's not how it works.
Getting out of your comfort zone is not just important for growth, its important for remembrance.
Remembering pieces of ourselves that used to make us feel so alive and unique.
This is something I didnt foresee feeling.
So, my questions to YOU are:
Are their parts of yourself that used to love that youve shelved? Put away thinking you'll get back to her one day?
What ways could you climb out of your comfort zone and embrace HER?
Hit reply and let me know!
PS. Don't make assessments when you haven't slept. Even Jesus needed to sleep. Get those ZZZ's and watch your perspective change.
