$100 OFF from the monumental 2021 vintage, 93+ Jeb Dunnuck (and 92 Suckling), made by a 100-pt winemaker (with Chteau Ptrus on the resume!)
Normally $140 from the winery. Yours for $40
By now you know thats the recipe for a sell-out.
We know from past experience.
Because once upon a time we brought you the Erikson & Caradin Craftsman and Wolves Cabernet, a similarly styled, similarly massively discounted wine. Then came their explosively popular Reserve Cab. And the Archer & Thorn
And they all share one thing in common. The inevitable sold out button where the add to cart once was.
For months after, the emails trickle in steadily asking for more. And after waiting impatiently, today were back with a new smash hit from the ever-popular Erikson & Caradin.
Production is tiny, just a few hundred cases. Fruit comes from two elite sources in the valley - with 60% from Atlas Peak, and the remaining 40% from Oakville. The 2021 vintage is one for the record books, and is easily one of the best in the history of Napa, so theres that
And the aforementioned winemaker?
Thats Kevin Morrisey who has the chops with Petrus (!), Ehlers Estate, Etude, and Stags Leap Winery on his impressive resume. Nowadays hes pulling no punches with Erikson & Caradin.
Formidable and lush, with a strong focus on the deep red and black fruit spectrum. Red plum jam, quince paste, cassis and blackberry for days. Nuances of cigar box, and vanilla, with exotic woods join the party. Seductively rich and soft on the palate its all the better when you realize what you paid for it. Use that extra dough to cop a couple New York strips. Tossed in a cast iron skillet with tons of butter and rosemary and youll be living the dream.
Terrifyingly easy to drink. From the rockin 2021 vintage. And that price!? Sheeeeesh.
What more can you ask for??
93+ Points Jeb Dunnuck
Lots of red and black fruits, camphor, leather, and some bloody, iron-like nuances emerge from the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Ivy & Thistle, a medium to full-bodied, ripe, round, nicely textured beauty that has ripe tannins and terrific overall balance.
92 Points James Suckling
Aromas of cassis and ripe blackberries with dark chocolate and sweet spices with bark undertones. Full-bodied, deep and creamy with fine, velvety tannins and a long, persistent finish. Attractive now, but better after two or three years.
