We make shoes that you can feel good about (and look great in). Our Veldskoen are handcrafted with premium natural materials, an obsessive eye for detail, and a conscious mind.

We pride ourselves in sourcing as much of the footwear components locally as to support a wide range of South African companies and reduce our carbon footprint.

Veldskoen were first documented by the first settlers in Africa over 400 years ago

And according to the Koisan tribal lore, they were made and worn by the tribe as far back as 1000 years before that. They made for the perfect shoe construction in hot, harsh African desert. Easy to make, lightweight and extremely durable. We just added the style.
