With three decades of Cathiard ownership there are few Bordeaux estates as consistent as Ch. Smith Haut Lafitte and their 2023 wines are exemplary.

The technical team at the property are some of Bordeauxs most talented and each vintage seems to be more fine-tuned than the last.

The red wine has seamless tannin integration on par with the First Growths of the Mdoc. There is opulence and elegance, as well as fantastic precision. The white wine is superb, retaining tension and definition right through to its long finish. Both were wonderful highlights at the en primeur tastings.
