Wines that bring the ripeness you want from Napa and the verve you crave as someone who loves the Chardonnays of the world.The 2022 Gibbs Vineyards Chardonnay Napa Valley is that Chardonnaythe type that was once common around Napa Valley, but is now almost impossible to find under $50. It sports a decadent bouquet of apples and dried apricots, and a kind of poise that displays its sterling vineyard sources.You wont believe you paid just $25 for this wine, the lowest price in the country. Take it from me: most other Napa Valley Chardonnays of this caliber cost twice as much.Claim your share now.This wine is such a dead ringer for a much more expensive Chardonnay because it shares a primary fruit source with some of those big names: 60% of it is from a Yountville vineyard that owner-winemaker Craig Handly cant namehe scored a great deal on the same fruit that goes to some top-end labels.The rest comes from Corotto Vineyard, which was planted in the 90s in Carneros, Craig told us. This vineyard is right near Hudson Vineyards, and he says it balances out the mid-palate and finish, complementing the up-front richness and juiciness of the Yountville fruit.I love whats in this glass. Gibbs 2022 is a kind of little black dress in Napa Chardonnay: nothing too flashy, just well-tailored, understated, and high-class. Exactly my kind of wine.
