This 100% Petit Verdot (yes, PV!!) hails from a Single Vineyard in Paso. I know what you are thinking who the hell would do a straight PV in Paso?? Well, this winemaker did and it turned out to be an utterly genius move! For a bit of background, Petit Verdot originally was only used as a blending grape in Bordeaux, but is finding its way as a single varietal wine in nooks and crannies throughout the US, and for great reason! The dark and inky color, the dense and concentrated black fruits and those enticing floral notes can lead to some pretty darn enchanting wineslike the one we have coming your way!

I guarantee you have never heard of this winery, it was certainly the first time any of us had seen it. But the label was just so fun and wonderfully creative in a late 1800s kind of way, that we were cautiously optimistic on how good the wine may be upon sampling. Once we tasted, we threw caution right out the window because this PV was flat out mind-blowingly delicious! Fruit driven, dense, opulent and plush on the palate with just the right amount of oak influence and those gorgeous lavender and lilac notes on the outer edges of the wine. I am telling you, it floored every single person in our offices that gave it taste.

The wine sells for $42 at the winery, but they dont have any left. Want to know why?
