Reflections on competition, perseverance, and her love for the horse.
Meet Yagya Rider Isabel Adolf
In the second installment of our Yagya Rider Spotlight series, we had an engaging conversation with show jumper Isabel Adolf. We explored in depth her journey of perseverance, the deep bonds she forms with her horses, and her profound love for these animals that transcends their performance in the arena.
Give us a brief intro into your equestrian journey.
I began riding in the Hamptons at eight years old, first in equitation and shifting to jumpers at seventeen. I always joke that my parents were eager for me to quit riding after I graduated high school, but in college, I bought my first horse, and it was game over from there. Not a single horse sparked my passion, as I fell in love with animals as a whole; it was my trainers who inspired me to pursue riding. In college, I worked with a trainer who believed that if I trained hard enough, I could achieve anything; with her confidence in me, we built short-term and long-term goals that, at the time, were just dreams, but I have now achieved thanks to her pushing me at every turn.
What is your favorite Yagya piece?
My favorite Yagya products are the Yagya Compression Performance Breeches and the Long Sleeve Show Shirt. The breeches offer unrivaled support and comfort with grip and material that is perfect for every season. The shirt offers sun protection and features such as the beautiful cuffs that allow me to fold up the sleeves while at the show and the low zip, perfect for putting the shirt on and off without makeup staining or messing up your hair. Both products offer the most flattering fit, making me confident in and out of the saddle.

Is there one piece of advice you've heard that has been monumental in your equestrian journey?
Throughout the years, Ive worked with many trainers, each offering me varying perspectives that have significantly influenced my riding journey. In the competitive world with high stress and pressure to perform, it becomes very easy to forget why we became riders in the first place: for the horses. Before I entered the ring, my trainers would say, Go in there and have fun! Something so simple but often overshadowed by the constant desire for perfection. Having fun when youre on your horse is so important; to have fun is to have a connection with your horse, to understand your riding, and to know that you are always learning.
Throughout your equestrian journey, is there one horse that sticks out the most?
It's so hard to pick a single horse that sticks out the most throughout my equestrian journey. I am very lucky that every horse I have encountered has left a lasting effect on me. I am so appreciative of each and every one of my horses because they have taught me so much. With all the ups and downs, there hasnt been a day when I wasnt learning. My first horse, Zeus, taught me diligence, Athena taught me restraint, Hestia taught me to improvise, Apollo taught me confidence, Adonis taught me independence, Artemis taught me patience, Ares taught me to adapt, and Chiron taught me to trust.
