If you've been thinking of getting our WorldSIM eSIM, but have questions. don't worry, you're not alone. After every email I send out, quite a few questions normally come our way. So we decided to put together a short FAQ to help.

What is an eSIM? And what is a World eSIM?

eSIM is short for Embedded Subscriber Identity Module. Simply put, it's a digital version of the SIM card we're so used to. It's already embedded in your phone and gets activated by scanning a QR code which instals a secondary mobile network/service alongside your existing service.

Our World eSIM is like a normal eSIM except that it works across the globe at local rates. With our WorldSIM eSIM you can enjoy the benefits and peace of mind of having 2 mobile connections on 1 phone and never again be without a signal. You can use it as a backup service in your home country or when travelling abroad to save on roaming charges.

How does the World eSIM work?

The eSIM functions as a second digital chip inside your device that holds all the necessary information to connect to a mobile network. It can be installed over the internet in under 3 minutes. It will connect you to another mobile carrier and will work alongside your existing sim plan.

Can I use my existing phone with your World eSIM?

Most Apple, Samsung and Google phones released in the last 3 years support eSIMs. To be sure you can check your phone's specifications to see if it's eSIM compatible. You can also check our list here on the page.

Do I have to pay a monthly subscription to use your World eSIM?

No. Our service is prepaid. The entry level eSIM costs 25 and comes with 15 credit and lasts an entire year. It can easily be renewed thereafter.

How do I activate the WorldeSIM?

We will provide a QR code for you to scan with your phone's camera. This QR code will install the eSIM with all the necessary information into your phone in under 3 minutes

Just make sure you are connected to WiFi when first installing it. Then go to your sim settings and click on the option 'Add eSIM' or 'Add Data Plan' and follow the instructions on your phone.

Can I transfer my existing number to your eSIM?

No, it is not possible to transfer your existing number to our eSIM. Our eSIM comes with its own UK and USA number which can be used at the same time as your existing sim to receive and make calls. This provides you with many additional benefits likeyou can run two WhatsApp accounts on the same phone with 2 different numbershave a separate number for work and pleasure.

How do I top up my WorldeSIM ?

Can I use an eSIM for international roaming?

Yes. Our WorldSIM eSIM is the perfect companion when travelling abroad because you save a lot of money on roaming charges. It works in 135+ countries.

Can I transfer my balance from my World SIM Card to a new World eSIM?

Yes, you can transfer your balance from an active WorldSIM to an eSIM.

Can I transfer eSIM to another compatible handset?

An eSIM cannot be transferred to another compatible mobile phone once Installed.
