CONSERVATION SPOTLIGHT

Trout Unlimited, along with the US Forest Service and other partners, reached a $10 million agreement to restore fish habitats affected by 2020 fires. The Cameron Peak fire was the largest in Colorado history, burning over 208,000 acres. Since then, flash floods and mudslides have affected the Poudre canyon. Sampling from Colorado Parks and wildlife suggests that all fish for at least 16 miles downstream of the subsequent 2021 Black Hollow Flood had been killed. The Forest Service hopes to restore fish habitats affected by the fires through a new $10 million, eight-year agreement withTU. Click here to read more about this exciting news.
