Switch this for an impressive crochet piece

I wanted to share a fun picture from this weekend of my daughter Lily and I with Sassy the Seahorse. We were invited to a friend's birthday party and I thought Sassy would make the perfect gift.

I'm sharing this because I want you to see the simple change I made to the pattern - I used a plush yarn instead of DK weight! Just switching to a bulkier yarn made Sassy so huggable and impressive.

Using bulky or super bulky yarn is such an easy way to take your amigurumi to the next level. The end result isso much squishier and larger than with regular DK weight yarn. I love playing around with different yarns to change up my patterns and get different results.

While I enjoy DK and worsted weight yarn too for smaller pieces, sometimes you just want to make a showstopping plushie. I encourage you to start experimenting with bulky yarns to create truly impressive crochet pieces!
