Happy Monday, gamblers.
Free agency season is officially underway within the NBA and NHL, and it didn't take long for the deals to start flying in the NBA. The major money moves started yesterday and Paul George's offer from the Philadelphia 76ers is just the tip of the iceberg. (See more on another huge move below.) Meanwhile, when it comes to the diamond, the Milwaukee Brewers are in a great situation entering Monday's game against the Colorado Rockies. The Rockies have struggled this year and are 3-8 in their last 11 home games at hitter-friendly Coors Field. Consider this a sneak preview for the type of expert analysis and insight you will receive as a SportsLine subscriber.

KLAY THOMPSON REPORTEDLY SIGNS WITH MAVERICKS
NBA free agency is in full swing with high-profile players continuing to fly off the board. According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, veteran guard Klay Thompson is signing a three-year, $50 million deal
with the Dallas Mavericks. The move will take place via a sign-and-trade with the Mavericks sending guard Josh Green to the Charlotte Hornets as part of the deal, although the Warriors have not yet finalized their end of the deal, according to Yahoo's Jake Fischer. Thompson has spent his entire career with the Golden State Warriors after selecting the sharpshooting guard with the No. 11 pick in the 2011 NBA Draft. CBS Sports NBA writer Sam Quinn pointed out how Thompson's departure from the Bay Area came to be.
Quinn: "The Warriors reportedly offered Thompson a two-year, $48 million deal last offseason. That is far smaller than the four-year, $100 million pact Draymond Green secured as a free agent, and it was also significantly lower than the four-year, $128 million contract Jordan Poole got when the Warriors thought he might be Thompson's long-term replacement at shooting guard. Thompson rejected that $48 million offer, and during the season, the Warriors slowly began to rely more on more heavily on rookie shooting guard Brandin Podziemski, even bringing Thompson off of the bench for a stretch."
The Hot Ticket
Brewers at Rockies, 8:40 p.m. | TV: MLB Network
The Pick: Brewers -1.5 (-104)
Key trend: The Brewers have won five of their last seven games by at least two runs.
SportsLine expert Jason La Canfora is 4-2 in his last six picks involving the Brewers.
La Canfora: "We have been fading Rockies starting pitcher Austin Gomber quite a bit this season and will do so yet again. Gomber has lost five straight started by two runs or more, and the Rockies have a -20 run differential in those starts. Colorado is 5-10 when Gomber starts with nine losses of multiple runs. In his last five starts, he has tallied a 9.39 ERA, while allowing a .350/.389/.580 slash line. Meanwhile, the Brewers are thriving against bad teams (27-15 vs sub .500 teams), so Milwaukee is clearly the superior team in this spot."
