Good afternoon, sports fans.
There's no rest for the weary when it comes to the NBA offseason. Day 1 of the NBA Draft is set to take place tonight with the Atlanta Hawks holding the top pick. There also will be plenty of action on the diamond with several Major League Baseball games on tap. The Subway Series between the New York Mets and New York Yankees is certainly a very intriguing matchup despite the Mets' documented struggles this season. Our Bruce Marshall points out that the Mets have turned things around lately with 66 runs across their last nine games. Consider this a sneak preview for the type of expert analysis and insight you will receive as a SportsLine subscriber.

ROCKETS COULD ATTEMPT TO TRADE FOR KEVIN DURANT, PER REPORT
The first large shoe of the NBA offseason dropped on Tuesday night when the New York Knicks landed Mikal Bridges in a trade with the Brooklyn Nets. Shortly after that deal, the Houston Rockets acquired an unprotected 2027 first-round pick, a 2029 first-round pick, and pick swaps in 2025 and 2029 in a separate trade with the Nets. With Houston having more assets at their disposal, the Rockets appearinterested in making a run at a superstar, such as Kevin Durant, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. CBS Sports NBA writer Jasmyn Wimbish explores what the Suns must consider.
Wimbish:
"From Phoenix's position, as much as they probably don't want to part with Durant right now, if the Rockets offer a haul for K.D., or even Devin Booker, can you really say no? While Durant's short tenure with the Suns hasn't gone to plan in part due to injuries, the fact remains that he and Booker haven't made it out the second round of the playoffs. And after trading for Bradley Beal last summer in an effort to create an offensively-potent Big Three, the Suns struggled this season because of their lack of depth. That issue isn't going away next season as they're expected to be well over the luxury tax paying all three of their stars."
The Hot Ticket
Yankees at Mets, 7:10 p.m. | TV: MLB Network
The Pick: Over 8.5 (-104)
Key trend: The over is 5-1 in the Yankees' last six games.
SportsLine expert Zack Cimini is 15-5-1 in his last 21 over/under picks involving the Yankees.
Cimini: "Look for runs again on Wednesday between the New York Yankees and New York Mets. Yankees pitcher Luis Gil is coming off his worst start of the season as he surrendered seven runs against the Baltimore Orioles in his most recent outing. It also ended the Yankees' nine-game winning streak in Gil's starts. In the month of June, the Mets rank first in batting average, and both teams are in the top five in home runs."
