Waterproof products ALSO tend to be windproof. Gore-Tex "Windbreaker" is exactly the same product as the Gore-Tex waterproof membrane, just without the water seal over the seams. Waterproof kit is windproof.

More importantly: Windproof garments protect from windchill - they keep out the bite of the cold better than your outerwear alone.

Top tip for this fortnight? Upgrade your waterproofs - protect yourself from windchill on your journeys & renew your waterproofs at the same time.

This tends to work best on shorter rides up to 45 minutes. After that, the moisture build-up inside the rain jacket & rain pants tends to reduce the benefit a little. But, certainly if you are commuting in the morning and at night, rain jackets and trousers are a great way to stay warmer for longer on the bike.
