Hüga Heat is a Native Mainah

Hga was founded just three years ago to help the local Maine restaurant industry keep their outdoor patios open and comfortable through the COVID winter of 2021. As long term Maine residents with deep roots in the Portland and Boothbay/Southport communities, we feel a strong connection to the owners and servers at our favorite restaurants. We know how much they invested in outdoor seating and patio heaters in an effort to stay open as the weather changed during COVID. And we knew firsthand how the cold could dampen the customer experience and make it harder to enjoy food and visiting with friends. This is what sparked the idea that warming people from underneath, similar to car seat heaters, could make those wooden or metal patio chairs more comfortable as temperatures dropped.

Our cushions are proudly made in Maine by independent stitchers and stuffed by our friends at Pieceworks. We source as many materials and services as we can from other Maine businesses since we know how important it is to keep our economy thriving.
