Text Summary Of This Email

I used to think that lower rep training caused more CNS fatigue than higher rep training.
We all did. Literally every fitness professional worth their weight in salt, thought and said that.
Now we know the opposite is true.
There are terms floating around like systemic fatigue, peripheral fatigue, local fatigue, systemic fatigue, etc.
But the only thing you need to know is fatigue.
Because every one knows that we don't want to feel fatigue. Nobody would choose to be fatigued. You'd choose to be the opposite of fatigued.
We all want to be energized and ready to go all the time.
But if you do all high rep training, chances are pretty good that you will be more fatigued on a day to day and week to week basis.
Now, here's where it gets interesting...
When I was younger I also thought that guys in their 40's and 50's should do higher reps.
Not true. As long as you sequence correctly and use the right movements and form.
At 49 I can go heavy and train in a 6-8 rep range on almost everything... and still feel great.
By doing so I have less soreness, less inflammation and less fatigue.
Does that mean I never do sets of 9, 10, 11 or even 12 reps?
No. I do those sometimes. Like when something doesn't feel great. Maybe I slept wrong or my shoulder just doesn't feel great that day.
In that case I will push the reps up a little.
And I will do it more often on legs.
If you want to build big quads and the lower rep ranges aren't doing it for you then I'd advise you to try adding just one higher rep (20) set to your workouts.
I have that programmed in MIDLIFE MUSCLE for you.
The entire system is designed to keep you feeling great, while you get jacked and strong.
It's on sale until tomorrow.
