Hi -
Happy Earth Day eve! I'm Louise, Jetson's head of digital marketing. This week, I'm taking over Stefan's Friday email to share some exciting news we've been working on!
For a lot of you, this is the first time you've heard from me. Here are a few random details about me: 1. My job is to get Jetson into more hands from people on the internet, 2. Prior to Jetson I ran a nonprofit for street dogs in South America, and 3. I can personally attest that After Ate saved my Christmas last year when someone snuck ham into the potato salad and I was doubled over in the kitchenbut I digress...
As Jetson's resident environmental advocate, I recently reviewed our sustainability practices and how we stack up. To be honest, we have some work to dofrom packaging decisions to carbon emission reduction initiatives and offsetting, we are committed to working towards improving our supply chain wherever possible.
If you were around last year, you might remember that we switched from glass bottles to plastic CSP bottles, and quite a few of you let us know you werent happy with that change. We hear you. While our CSP bottles are the best packaging available to keep the good bugs alive to get the most out of your probiotics, we also want to be cognizant of the long term effect of our business practices.
Nowwhat are we doing about it?
To start, were doing the work to assess our supply chain and impact as a company. Thats why weve partnered with Bluebird Climate. With their help, we are beginning to understand our climate impact and ways to work towards more sustainable practices. Here are the three pillars we're committed to building more transparency around:
Assessing our supply chain and measuring our products carbon emissions and waste
Setting target goals for more environmentally friendly packaging
Sharing our goals and progress with you and our partners
Our partnership with Bluebird is not just another Earth Day stunt. It represents the continuation of our visionto make better health accessible to everyone. Better health goes way beyond supplements. It's also taking care of our planet which in turn takes care of all of us.
