If you think I sound fired up, it's because I am!
Almost 7 decades after the fact, skincare companies are still widely misinforming their customers and lining their pockets while they do so!
The Hayflick Limit was discovered in 1965, it changed the way scientists viewed ageing, informing us that cells cannot divide infinitely but will die after 40-60 cell divisions. This is still the unchallenged explanation of cellular ageing.
If you are wondering why the vast majority of the skincare industry is telling you that 'young' skin is achieved by increasing cellular turnover (which accelerates cell division) your guess is as good as mine!
Although my best guess is money.
Increasing cell turnover is the very foundation the anti-ageing skincare industry is built on. To reveal the truth now would mean admitting most of their products are not fit for purpose.
To me the word 'anti' means against, the opposite of. Therefore 'anti' ageing should mean age reversal, stopping the biological ageing process - notaccelerating it.
The problem for these multi-billion dollar skincare companies (and the smaller ones who blindly copied them) is that they have nothing to offer that is proven to reverse the ageing process.It is in their interest to keep the truth up their sleeves.

I'm just a little voice, but I truly believe we are at a tipping point. I think people are looking foranswers and seeking them from science, not magazine ads.
