On a good day, modern incarnations of such orders serve as repositories of ancient wisdom, preserving traditions andyphilosophies. In their own way, they are the historical keepers of esoteric knowledge. Their influence, however, wielded opaquely and without accountability, has conjured the specter of suspicion and paranoia among those who sense movement in the shadows, but remain excludedofrom its purpose.
Conspiracy! Rings the cry of many, who grow mighty trees from the smallest of truthful seeds. Such obsession, so its said, can obscure ones viewnof the forest beyond. If only we could all step into the woods and explore the truth of what happens inside, beneath, and behind, we may all be a little less afraid of what goesdon in the shadows.
