Dear Conservancy Supporter,

Even before they hatch, baby sea turtles face steep odds. Strong storms can bury nests deep in the sand or even wash them out to sea. When hatchlings do make it out of their nests and head toward the water, they face numerous dangers including heat, dehydration and predators.

But in one protected corner of Florida, the next generation of sea turtles are getting much-needed help on their journey to the sea.

In honor of this week's World Sea Turtle Day, you can have 7x the impact for turtles and other threatened species today thanks to a special match.

At The Nature Conservancy's Blowing Rocks Preserve, staff and volunteers act as lifeguards to the hatchlings that are born here. And each year, several breeding females and dozens of hatchlings are rescued at Blowing Rocks.

This is the kind of work we're doing around the world to save vulnerable species. But we need your help.

Sadly, all species of sea turtles found in Florida including green, loggerhead and leatherback turtles are at-risk of extinction. Before they were protected, poaching nearly wiped out their entire population. And now, plastics and other marine pollution, habitat loss and increasingly severe storms due to climate change continue to threaten their survival.

That's why, with your support, we are preserving vital sea turtle habitat and doing everything we can to ensure hatchlings can overcome the odds to make it to sea. We must protect these nesting areas, because years from now when the female hatchlings grow up, they'll return to these beaches to lay their eggs.
