News From The Farm Yard"Make the time"!The morning show was on the radio as I was doing chores. The one host mentioned how she would like to get up and just bake Christmas cookies in her PJs, but there never seemed the time on the weekends. Her co host said that sometimes you just need to say "no" to all the other stuff and just do it. Otherwise it'll never happen. This really hit home with me, I have a long wish list... I need to "just do it, and make the time". What is on your wish list? Something for yourself? Or maybe with a friend or family? Mine is to bake cookies and watch a Hallmark movie or three. It's hard when there's a never ending list of barn stuff but the cattle will be okay if I take a little extra time for myself. In fact, they just might benefit from it too. So join me In doing just one thing that's on your wish list this winter. We all need a little winter magic.
The Week In PicturesSteven taking advantage of the warmer weather to get some extra cleaning done. Sun setting as I'm feeding the heifers their nightly hay. Ember, my hereford, trying on some christmas horns. Morning sunrise as the cows were waiting to milk.
From The Kitchen
Store UpdatesBoth regular and cheddar hot dogs are back in stock. Hoping to pick up more cranberry summer sausage on Tuesday. It's been busy moving meat these past two weeks. Between putting Holiday boxes together and non website orders, my inventory tracking has fallen behind. I'm hoping to be back on track by Wednesday.
On The RoadI've got a friend in the Roberts area that's asking when I will be coming his way. We could even meet somewhere along Hwy 8. Is anyone else getting low and needing to restock in Dec or Jan? For our new subscribers: we don't have a regular route or schedule. Customers usually reach out when they are getting low on beef, I send out an email and we try to get a run set up. I'm in the Baldwin/Roberts area about 2-3 times a year and the same goes for the Saint Croix/Luck/Siren or Menomonie area. Are you interested in some beef? just let us know.
What's your food story? We all have a unique food story that has shaped how we feel, think, buy, and act around food. We would love to join you on your journey and become a part of your food story.
