There are so many things I could say about this moment in time and how Chanukah and Thanksgiving fits into it all.
One thing's for sure.
Of all the years in recent memory, Chanukah this year feels especially significant. Its a story of what may as well be the original Jewish activists, the Maccabees, who stood up to an army many times their size and when they did, a miracle happened.
When we light our candles in two short weeks and celebrate this incredible story of resilience and resistance, were also celebrating the fact that, no matter what, the Jews will be lighting the candles again next year.
I hope this Chanukah you are reminded of both your individual and our collective ability to create lightand justiceall around us.
I also hope that this Thanksgiving, we can all find things to be thankful for. They are there.
Chag Sameach. Bring them home.
