Ai Jiao Rock Oolong Tea of Wu Yi Shan Spring 2023
Ai Jiao Oolong (aka Dwarf Oolong) is a special varietal called C.sinensis cv.Aijiao-wulong that originates in Dongfeng village (Jian'Ou Township) just to the south of Wu Yi Shan and which is also the home of "Qing Xin Oolong". Our Ai Jiao Oolong is first flush of spring pick, grown from 40-60 year old bushes growing in Zhu Ke mountain area to the west of Wu Yi Shan township. The taste is mild and mineral with a nice, thick body and sweet aftertaste. There is a dried fruit sweetness that is hard to place exactly which makes this a totally fresh and unique tea to enjoy and compare with the more classic Wu Yi varietals.

Pasha Mountain "Large Leaf Assamica" Black Tea Autumn 2023
Our Autumn Pasha Black tea is from old plantation bushes growing at an altitude of about 1650 meters, making it one of the highest altitude teas in Xishuangbanna. Pasha tea has pronounced hairy buds and thick veined leaves. Our Pasha tea was picked in the 1 leaf to 1 bud ratio style as is typical of the area. After picking, the tea was expertly processed into this beautiful black tea! Being large leaf assamica varietal (which is typically processed into pu-erh tea), the tea has a robust full taste, but can be subtle in earlier brews, and benefits from being pushed a bit (and likes hotter water). Like pu-erh tea, this tea benefits from a bit of aging.
2023 Yunnan Sourcing "Sanctuary" Ripe Pu-erh Tea Cake
Our second Sanctuary release!! Sanctuary is a small wet pile batch of just 600 kilograms! We purchased 230 kilograms in total. Instead of separating out the Cha Tou tea nuggets we've kept them in there! The tea was harvested from Na Han village in the Bang Dong area of Lincang! Smooth, fruity, chocolatey and creamy ripe. It's ultra smooth, lively in the mouth and gives a soothing feeling.

2016 Cha Yu Lin "Yi Lu Feng Jue" Hunan Fu Brick Tea
Cha Yu Lin is a small An Hua area tea producer that produces their own Fu Cha, Tian Jian and Qian Liang (and Bai Liang) Cha. They have been producing teas under this brand since 2005. Their attention to care and detail in their productions is admirable and we are proud to be able to offer this incredibly delightful Fu Brick! This 380 gram tea brick is composed entirely of spring harvest material from Yun Tai mountain in An Hua county of Hunan. The tea was fermented, then pressed into bricks where the golden flowers flourish in the inner section of the brick where the conditions are just right to support them. After a few days the Golden Flowers have thrived the bricks are dried gradually using a temperature of 37C which gradually halts the spread of the flowers without damaging them or the tea leaves. Yi Lu Feng Jue means something like "bestowing noble ranks successively," referring to continuously gaining a higher and higher rank as one progresses through their life or career. Yi Lu Feng Jue is different from other Fu Brick because the material used is grade 1 Hunan mao cha, which is a tippy grade of leaves that would typically be used for making Tian Jian teas. Although the grade of leaves used is similar to Tian Jian, the processing is that of Fu brick. The brewed tea soup is orange in color, with a fruity sweetness and some astringency is over-steeped. We recommend shorter steeps at first with this tea to help gradually release its essence.
ALLERGEN ALERT!!! ** Because there is a possibility the golden flowers were inoculated using wheat flour we cannot guarantee this tea is safe for those with Celiac Disease or those that have severe gluten induced allergies **
Jade Earrings * Superior Hand-Rolled White TeaSpring 2023
This premium white tea of Simao has been hand-rolled into perfectly symmetrical "earrings." When brewed, the ribbons sink to the bottom of the glass and slowly uncoil. This tea is especially fragrant, has a very pleasant mouth-feel and a strong cha qi that lasts throughout many infusions. The rolling of these Jade Earrings is an art form that requires a high level of skill and precision. It is a challenging and time-consuming process that yields spectacularly beautiful tea.
Yunnan "Pure Bud Silver Strands" First Flush Green TeaSpring 2023
We have offered the "Silver Strands" varietal green tea (a robust one leaf to one bud ratio) since 2005, but decided to also offer its first flush tippy "pure bud" counterpart. Picked in the earliest part of spring (in Late-February before the spring rains arrive) and in the autumn (late-September after summer monsoon has gone), this pure bud pluck features small hairy silver tips with no leaf. Sweet, buttery and crisp vegetal umami character makes this tea perfect for starting your day (or any time of day). We recommend brewing in a gaiwan using 85-90C water and very short steeps. A fine hand-picked and processed tea that showcases Silver Strand varietal and Yunnan teas in general!

Raw Pu-erh Snobs
2021 Hai Lang Hao "Spring & Autumn" Yi Wu & Bu Lang Raw Pu-erh Tea Cake
A very interesting blend of tea with tea from Bu Lang and Yi Wu mountains with Autumn 2020 and Spring 2021 harvested teas from both mountains! Four unique harvests from two different regions makes for a very potent and complex experience! The Yi Wu mountain teas are complex and full-bodied with sweetness and some bitterness, which is countered by the cha qi laden bitter heaviness of the Bu Lang mountain teas. The Spring and Autumn interplay is interesting as well!
2005 Nan Qiao "Liming Impression" Raw Pu-erh Tea Cake
Here we have a classic blended Menghai recipe cake from the old school Nan Qiao Tea Factory. Potent first flush of spring 2005 tea from Menghai (Bulang and Mengsong) was blended together, pressed, and then stored in a dry storage condition in Guangzhou until now. The result is multi-faceted complex tea with a strong aged character. Some bitterness up front with a strong and long sweet fruity hui gan. The tea soup is thick and orange-red in color. This cake commemorates the 50th Anniversary of the Liming Agricultural Collective, a prominent Menghai area rural cooperative from which many of the early pu-erh tea factories sprung.
2023 Xiaguan "Green Mark" Raw Pu-erh Tea Cake
This is a classic re-imagined blend based on the original 1952 "Zhong Cha" Green Mark pressing. A blend of tea from Spring 2023 flush, consisting of Ban Zhang, Yan Zi Tou, Yi Wu, Ge Deng, Bing Dao, Jingmai, and Wu Liang! Potent and balanced tea blend, that has excellent aging potential.

Ripe Pu-erh
2004 Menghai Bamboo Leaf Ripe Pu-erh Tea Brick
Another dry-aged ripe beauty from Menghai! A humble looking bamboo leaf wrapped brick with no nei fei belies its complex inner character. Some mild chocolatey bitterness that is countered with much fruity sweetness and a light hardwood oiliness. It has a thick full-bodied tea soup and long-lasting huigan (uniquely excellent). This is a tea that benefits from long steeps and won't get funky. Affordable aged ripes of this quality are hard to come by! Give it a try!

2010 Bulang Mountain Ripe Pu-erh Tea Mini Tuo
These lovely mini tuo have been dry aged in Kunming since 2015 (previously stored in Menghai). They were produced by a Menghai area tea factory and are composed of broken leaf ripe tea (). Don't be confused or put off by the leaf grade, as the quality of brewed tea is excellent, as good as many similarly aged cakes or bricks. This mini tuo can be infused 5 to 7 times (gong fu style) or more without losing much flavor. The taste is creamy and thick, with a typical Bulang coffee-like bitterness and a sweet after-finish! An incredibly convenient and tasty aged ripe tea that can be had at an unbeatable price!
2006 Jinggu "Nuo Mi Xiang" Rice Scent Ripe Pu-erh Tea Tuo
Most examples of rice scent herb and ripe tea are made from inferior ripe pu-erh leaves or are younger productions with less age. Here we have a tuo pressed in 2006 from Jinggu (Simao) area tea leaves blended with rice scent herb. The age has done a wonder on this tea, allowing the rice scent and ripe tea time to come together harmoniously. Nuo Mi Xiang ( Semnostachya menglaensis H. P. Tsui) is the Chinese name for Sticky Rice Herb. Nuo Mi Xiang is a natural herb that grows in Yunnan and is often mixed in a very small ratio with ripe pu-erh tea to impart a sweet and glutinous rice taste to the tea.
FT "30 Years Aged" Ripe Loose Leaf Pu-erh Tea
This is a new/old production from FT Brand (Fei Tai )! Loose Leaf Ripe Pu-erh Tea aged for 30 years in both Menghai and Guangdong! The tea itself is from Menghai county, and has that thick Menghai character. Creamy, sweet, but with that hallmark aged taste that has to be experienced to understand!
Ripe and Raw
1998 CNNP "7262 Yellow Mark" Ripe Pu-erh Tea Cake
A CNNP production from 1998 blended along the lines of Menghai Tea Factory's classic 7262. Pressed from Menghai harvested tea leaves and also wet-piled in Menghai, then stored in Kunming until now. This is a ripe that is super clean in terms of taste, aroma, and body feeling. Cha Qi is super mellow and nurturing. For me, this is a tea drink in the morning first thing on an empty stomach and just let it sink in. I got a 150 gram chunk initially as a sample and just finished the whole 150 grams in no time at all! All-in-all an excellent aged ripe with 25+ years of maturation!

2006 Chang Da Hao "Yi Wu Zheng Shan" Raw Pu-erh Tea Cake
Chang Da Hao is a classic Yi Wu producer that we've sold a couple of times over the last 20 years! This offering is a cake pressed from Spring 2006 harvested Yi Wu tea leaves and then aged in Guangzhou. The storage is dry Guangzhou storage, and as a result you can enjoy a nicely aged tasting Yi Wu with this tea cake!
2005 Liming 7540 Raw Pu-erh Tea Cake
Very nicely Guangdong aged Liming pressing! 7540 is Liming's take on the classic 7542. The almost 20 years of dry aging in Guangdong has moderated the intense bitter/astringent character of this tea, replacing that with a well round sweet and fruity character with a hint of mushroom broth and crabapple. An excellent tea for the price, which could make for an excellent "everyday drinker" alternative to the astronomically expensive Dayi 7542.
2023 Yunnan Sourcing "Te Zhi" Certified Organic Ripe Pu-erh Tea
We are proud to offer a Certified Organic "Te Zhi" Ripe Pu-erh Tea from Yunnan. This tea was grown in the area of Simao and was harvested in April 2022 and wet piled in the summer of 2022. This is a "special recipe" blend of ripe pu-erh tea that has a very potent cha qi, with a thick tea soup, dark chocolate-like bitterness and fruity sweetness. The leaves used in this tea cake were harvested from organically cultivated tea pure assamica varietal tea bushes growing at an altitude 1300-1350 meters (4300-4450 feet) on summit of Ma Wei Mountain (just west of Pu'Er City). The tea is picked and processed into sun-dried mao cha, and then wet piled (wu dui) for 45 days, transforming it into ripe pu-erh tea ().
Dark Tea
2010 Cha Yu Lin "Lao Tong You Xiang" Hunan Fu Brick Tea
Cha Yu Lin is a small An Hua area tea producer that produces their own Fu Cha, Tian Jian and Qian Liang (and Bai Liang) Cha. They have been producing teas under this brand since 2005. Their attention to care and detail in their productions is admirable and we are proud to be able to offer this incredibly delightful Fu Brick! This 800 gram tea brick is composed entirely of spring harvest material Liu Bu Xi Village in An Hua county of Hunan. High quality tea leaves, expert processing, and several years of aging come together to make this a very enjoyable Fu Brick! The tea is thick and sweet, with notes of fruit, hay, and honey. The tea soup is orange-red in color!
ALLERGEN ALERT!!!** Because there is a possibility the golden flowers were inoculated using wheat flour we cannot guarantee this tea is safe for those with Celiac Disease or those that have severe gluten induced allergies **
2023 Yunnan Sourcing "Yi Bang Village" Ripe Pu-erh Tea Cake
Yi Bang Village is an area in the northern part of Yi Wu. Yi Bang tea is special in that it is not large leaf varietal but rather a primitive small leaf varietal that has grown in this area for hundreds if not thousands of years. Like other small leaf varietal wild arbor tea trees in Yunnan (Jing Mai), the flavor is lighter and more smooth, but the aroma is pungent and fruity. Our Yi Bang ripe tea is incredibly smooth and sweet, but with a dense pungent flavor that remains potent and complex with many steeps! A totally unique ripe tea, unlike others we've produced!
2011 CNNP "Wild Anhua Tian Jian" Tea of Hunan
This is a Hunan CNNP production from wild tea growing in Anhua county of Hunan! Processed into Tian Jian style tea and then aged in large 25 kilogram baskets in Anhua town since 2011! Dark, rich, malty, with smoked fruit tastes makes this a real treat!
2019 Three Cranes "75117 High Mountain" Liu Bao Tea
This is a premium high mountain () Liu Bao tea produced by the oldest and most famous Liu Bao producer (Three Cranes Brand). Guangxi high altitude material (900 meters) plucked in Spring 2017 was wet piled in 2017 using a unique process invented by the Three Cranes Tea Factory. The tea was packed into 14.5 kilogram baskets in 2019 and offered for sale. This is a full-bodied creamy and fruity Liu Bao with signature betel nut aftertaste. Goes many steeps and is very smooth without wet storage/musty character! Spring 2017 Harvest, 2019 packaged for sale (November 8th 2019).
