New York on Film: Manhandled
Thursday, June 15, 6:30pm
Enjoy a 1920s movie experience with a 21st-century twist! Manhandled (1924), follows a shopgirl, played by Gloria Swanson, who gets a taste of the seedier side of NYC nightlife. This silent film is brought to life byDJ Misbehaviour, who will create a specially curated mix of tunes and soundscapes from the jazz age to today. Fashion editor Lynn Yaeger will introduce the film.

Celebrate Juneteenth at MCNY with a live performance by songwriter, musician, and epic storyteller Queen Esther who will playselections from her substantial body of alt-country, jazz, and Black Americana music.
