Exclusive session on defensive shape to counter-attack
NATHAN JONES/ DEFENSIVE SHAPE TO COUNTER-ATTACK
We are delighted to letyou knowthat anew and exclusive coaching course has gone live on CV Academy.
In this excellent session,Nathan Jones leads Bournemouths Under-21s throughdefensive shapes in two formations, and how they can transitioninto clinical counter-attacking.
In the first practice, Jones focuses on defensive roles of units and individuals. This leads into a wave game, designed to encourage attacking principles for capitalising quicklyon winning possession. The final practice is an 11v11 themed game, in which the players learning is tested.
This session filmed before he was appointed Charlton Athletic manager replicates one delivered by Jones on matchday minus one, before his then Southampton team defeated Pep Guardiolas Manchester City in January 2023. We hope you enjoy it!
